The DC Scores Cup is the biggest corporate charity soccer tournament in the country with almost 50 companies represented and 2023 marked the 20th anniversary of the tournament. It was an amazing day, and close to a quarter million dollars was raised for DC SCORES programming.

Every year RLAH @properties runs a three-month charity drive called RLAH Philanthropy. RLAH Realtors are asked to donate a portion of their sales commissions to a local organization that helps improve the communities in which we sell. Something special is typically done for whichever organization raises the most money during the drive and our 2022 tally came in with DC Scores leading the way. We have a lot of soccer players at our brokerage so we were happy to sponsor a team of our agents and staff while benefiting such a great cause.

Other notable companies that participated in the all-day, 7-on-7, co-ed tournament were Amazon, Wells Fargo, Turner Construction, Marriott, Deloitte, World Bank, and KMPG. The RLAH team, appropriately named “The StaRLAHs” was made up of agents Andres Serafini, Bella Silva, Gene Sung, Jordan Chronopoulus, Nikki Nabbi, and Omar Gonzalez. Staff representatives were RLAH President Justin Levitch and Finance & Compliance Coordinator Stephen Pavlov. They added a few guests to fill in some needed positions in Amanda Schaefer, Andy Kroll, Mark McBride and Zabrina Krishnamoorthy.

While no matches were easy, the StaRLAHs advanced from the group stages as the winner of the group with two wins and a tie and luckily, goal differential. The semifinal match was a breeze as the team realized they survived a very tough group stage. The final match was against the 2022 DC Scores Cup Champions and in overtime, Stephen Pavlov dribbled through several players and side-netted the game-winning goal. The StaRLAHs went undefeated through the whole tournament and did not allow one goal with the defensive wall of Omar, Gene and Amanda.

The group was ecstatic to hoist the trophy as you can see. For a team that never played together, they sure seemed in sync with each other. RLAH is the best brokerage in the DMV when it comes to real estate and they’re pretty good when it comes to playing soccer together too!
